In Breeches Holiday Gift Guide 2020

To match my last post, here is the second half of my Breeches and Sweats Holiday Gift Guide! Today’s guide is my “In Breeches” version! Everything on this list is carefully chosen based on the products I know and love or the new items I’ve been dying to try for myself and JT. Also, since it was super requested, I have included some awesome, personalized gift ideas for your trainer this holiday season. Happy shopping and happy holidays!

FOR THE EQUESTRIAN

This is my ultimate, personal Christmas Wish List. A lot of the items are things I use on an everyday basis and, quite frankly, can’t live without (Lululemon shirts, Unbelts, etc). The others are gifts I’m really hoping for – Hello, Samshield Shadowmatt! You can’t go wrong gifting an equestrian with anything on this list- and you might even find a couple to add to your own wish list!

If you read my “In Sweats” Holiday Gift Guide you know I love gathering a bunch of items and creating a personalized basket. Below are my ideas for “Horse Gift Baskets” that you can customize for your friends and barn mates. Determine your budget amount, choose 3-5 items, add some cute packaging, and you have a really special, easy gift! I gave my sister a grooming tote gift basket two years ago (I think at that time I ended up spending $45 dollars) and it was super fun to gift to give. I’ve also added unique packaging ideas which can actually be part of the gift itself!

IN THE RIDER’S MINDS:

After compiling my own list I thought it might be nice to get some input from my fellow riders to see what their must-have products are. Check out what other equestrians around the world are hoping to find under their trees this year, and why.

“The Dover contour baby pad! I won this saddle pad at IEA regionals last year and I am absolutely in love with it. It is a great, cheaper alternative to Ogilvy pads. They never slip and look amazing on the horse!” – EM

“I loveeee my Ellany Equestrian belts. They’re so stretchy and they have so many colors/patterns. I also got my initials monogrammed on my belt so it adds a nice personal touch. They have really good prices and the woman who runs it is super super sweet! They make great gifts and it’s a great small business to support. I’ve never had an issue with their shipping or payments or anything so it makes it a really easy process!!” – KH

“I would definitely recommend the VETSET Cocoa Butter. It does wonders for healing cuts and abrasions and also works amazing for spur rubs. This is something that is always in my tack trunk and travels basically everywhere.” – AM

“I put a new helmet (Samshield Miss Shield) on my list! I think it is important to have a helmet that fits well and looks stylish in the show ring.” – LG

“One would be a Bemer Blanket and Boots. They really help the horses joints and muscles when on a heavy show schedule or when they are rehabbing. It has also helped my jumper with her back and she over jumps, so the blanket has helped keep her back from being sore, and the boots have helped the impact that her legs get. It is expensive but it is something I use daily. One more that I have would be the oglivy saddle pads for the jumper ring or just everyday use as they stay in place, are easy to clean, and look very neat for the show ring.” – MB

If I could pick one thing I think every rider needs for their horse is a good hoof conditioner/moisturizer! Finn has struggled with really dry hooves that tend to crack and split a lot in all types of weather. I just finished my bottle of Farnam’s Horseshoers Secret Hoof Conditioner and it’s helped so much! I definitely need more and it’s one of my favorite products on our Christmas list :)” – SH

Snaks 5th Avenchew! They are soo cute and all of my ponies/horses love them!! They are amazing and so adorable and I love seeing how happy my ponies are after eating them!!” – BR

“I think that something everyone should have would be the Wellesley Equestrian wooden grooming tote. it’s so durable and barely gets scratched during everyday use. it looks really nice as well and fits all of my things. For Christmas, I am asking for Equiline Show Pants. I love the way that they look and I love Equiline products in general. i really hope I get a pair! Another must have for everyone is some Tailored Sportsman pants! they look so classic and the material is durable and comfortable. you can also wear them for either showing or schooling!” – IC

I absolutely LOVE Thinline half pads, they are extremely flattering and comfy for my horse and I’ve noticed such a change in her jump ever since I got one. It’s definitely something I recommend to all equestrians no matter what discipline.” – IE
